Après Paris, Strasbourg et Munich, un autre lieu qui a de l’importance dans le récit est un petit village médiéval entouré de vignes, au pied des Vosges, où habite Lucien Weber, le grand-père de Béatrice. Lucien qui nous fait revivre son passé jusqu’alors inconnu de sa petite fille.
Un village touristique qui servira aussi de refuge à Béatrice chez ses amis de toujours Henri et Jeannette Féclaz. Un couple chaleureux, largement (et avec leur autorisation) inspiré de personnages réels.
After Paris, Strasbourg and Munich, here is another spot which is important in the story. It's a little medieval village surrounded by vineyards, at the Vosges foothills. There lives Lucien Weber, Béatrice's grand father, who tells about an unknown past.
This village will also be a shelter for Béatrice, who will hide in her friend's home. Henri and Jeannette Féclaz, a very sympathethic couple, will welcome her warmly.
Les photos ont été prises en septembre (alors que le roman se déroule en décembre), nous offrant ainsi de belles vues et de belles couleurs de début d'automne sur des vignes chargées de grappes.
The photographs were taken in september (whereas the story takes place in December), offering nice views with beautiful automn colours on the vineyards full of grapes.
Vue du village depuis le cimetière. Un paysage charmant qui donne envie de choisir là sa dernière demeure. Au-dessus de l’église, on distingue un des deux châteaux du XIIIe siècle qui veillent sur le village. Ici, le château du Spesbourg.
The village has a small cemitery from which you can admire the whole village. It's so nice that many people would dream to be buried here. Over the church, you can distinguish one of the two medieval castles (XIII th century) surrounding the village. Here, the Spesbourg castle.

Et voilà ! On comprend mieux pourquoi Béatrice a une affection toute particulière pour ce village, et pourquoi elle s’y sent en sécurité.
